None of the projects are now funded via ChildHope, however in many cases the work described continues to be delivered in some form by our partners.
Developing programmes to support working and street connected children that are led by children and encourage child participation and decision making. Using sport within an integrated programme, the project aims to overcome social isolation, increase self-esteem and tackle substance abuse and risky behaviour.

Read about this projectAround 150,000 of Mombasa's 1 million + population live in urban slum areas and on the streets. Street children are unfairly targeted by police, victims to illegal clean ups, and unjustly sentenced to prisons. Many street children in Mombasa become addicted to glue, using it to take away hunger pangs and stomach rotten food. ChildHope supports outreach activities and alternative education so these children have opportunities at better lives.
